How to use this Move-In / Move-Out Checklist in Montana

Walk the unit together before any boxes come in. Mark every item, write defects in words, and take dated photos of each one — in Montana landlord must give the tenant a written statement of the condition of the premises at move-in, signed by the landlord, before collecting a deposit (Mont. Code Ann. § 70-25-206).

Both sign at move-in and each keeps a copy. At move-out, repeat the walk with the same sheet, fill the second column, and send the deposit or itemized deductions within 10 days.
